The Scottish wildcat is a European wildcat population in Scotland, where they live in the Scottish Highlands in mostly mixed woodland areas. They were once widely distributed across Great Britain, but the population has declined drastically in the last hundred years. They are listed as Critically Endangered in the United Kingdom, because they often have babies with feral or pet cats.
